ATHLETICS:
· Tonight, our freshmen and JV football team will play their final game at East Ascension. Freshmen start at 5:30pm, followed by JV. Good luck Wildcats!
· Our Lady Cats basketball team will be scrimmaging at home tonight at 4:30pm against Barbe and Ponchatoula.
· Tonight, the bass fishing team will have a meeting in the cafeteria at 6:30pm.
CONGRATULATIONS:
· Congratulations to the Band of Legacy on their Outstanding performance at the Sulphur Marching Festival on Saturday! The Band, Colorguard, and Drumline, and Drum Majors all got Superior Ratings. The Band, Colorguard, Drumline, and Drum Majors all got Best in Class AAAA. The Colorguard and Drum Majors got Best Overall and the Band earned the coveted Grand Champion Trophy. Way to go band!
· Congratulations to the MCJROTC Raider-A team for winning second place in the co-Ed division at the All-Service Raider National Championships this weekend in Molena, Georgia. Walker won one of the five events and cadet Braiden Manuel placed 2nd in the male Ultimate Raider. Congratulations to the Raider boys’ team for placing 6th in the male-division. Congratulations also to the Raider-C team for placing second in the Co-Ed division at the Raider State Championships this weekend in Bogalusa, LA. Outstanding job Raiders!
ALL STUDENTS:
· Students, you are reminded that tomorrow is Election Day so there is no school. Classes will resume on Wednesday.
· FCA invites you to join them for Pizza and Jesus during all 3 lunch shifts today in Papa Johns.
· If you ordered last year’s yearbook they are in. You can pick up your yearbook during your lunch shift at the Wildcat Window today. You must show your current ID to pick up.
· Walker High's annual food drive is starting today through Wednesday, Nov. 20th. The top 3 first block classes will receive a donut party. Start bringing in those non-perishable food items.
· Today a representative from LINCOLN TECH will be in the cafeteria during lunch to talk about the programs they offer. Plan to stop by the table in the front of the cafeteria to get more information.
· Our annual Veterans Day Program hosted by FFA will be on Monday, November 11th. Any student interested in singing or reading a poem or playing a song at the Veterans Day program must see Mrs. Tate or Mr. Rushing in the Ag building in the morning or at your lunch shift to audition for a part. The last day for this will be Friday! Be sure to register your veteran by using the QR code sent through social media, Kinvo, and posted around campus.
· On Tuesday, November 12th there will be a Pizza fundraiser at Rotolo’s for our basketball teams. 20% of all sales will benefit our Wildcats so be sure to order pizza and support our basketball teams.
UPCOMING DEADLINES:
· Friday is the deadline to sign up for the December ACT. You can sign up at ACT.org.
· Monday is the deadline for excuses and assignments to be turned in (to those teachers that accept late assignments) for this upcoming interim.
· The next senior order will be on Monday, Nov. 11th in the gym lobby during all lunch shifts.
· Seniors, there are several scholarships with upcoming deadlines, some with deadlines this week. Be sure to check them out on the app under the blog November Scholarships!
