Announcements for Monday, January 13, 2025

ATHLETICS:

·         If you missed ordering your athletic letterman jacket in December, we have scheduled another order date for Friday, Jan. 31st during all lunch shifts. This is the last order until May. 

·         Congratulations to our wrestling team as they are the Cat 5 Hurricane Tournament Champs. They defeated Central, St. Amant, Prairieville and Albany to win the championship. This is the first tournament team championship in school history. Great job Wildcats! The Wildcats have another match here at home on Wednesday.

·         Congratulations to the Lady Cats basketball team for their win over Glen Oaks. Tomorrow both the Lady Cats and Wildcat basketball teams will play here at home. The Lady Cats will start the night at 5pm, followed by the boys.

·         The Lady Cats soccer team will play at home today at 6pm against Pope John Paul. Come out and support your Lady Cats this evening!

CONGRATULATIONS:

·         The MCJROTC Rifle Team who competed in the Battle of the Gulf air rifle match on Saturday in Robertsdale, Alabama. Out of 28 teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, Walker finished in 6th place!! Congratulations to our rifle team.

·         Congratulations to our Robotics team. Out of 16 teams from across the state, Walker’s team #18388 received the Design Award, Finalist Alliance Award and qualified for the State FTC Competition in February. Great job Wildcats!

 ALL STUDENTS:

·         All student schedules should be set so teachers should not send any students to guidance for changes.  If students have further questions about their schedules, please email your counselor.

·         Students, just a reminder. If you drive to school you MUST have a Walker High parking tag displayed from your review mirror. To get a tag you must complete an application and pay the tag fee. If you have questions please come to the Annex. This week we will begin checking the parking lots for vehicles that are not in compliance. There are consequences for driving without a parking tag.

·         It is too late to purchase a special dress pin for January, but later today the pins for February will go on sale. You can purchase the February's Special Dress pins on Walker High’s online payment system. The deadline for February pins is Friday, January 24th.
