ATHLETICS:
· Attention all students that signed up for Track & Field: there will be an informational meeting today immediately after school in the cafeteria.
· Tonight, we will have “Meet the Wildcats Spring Edition” where we will recognize our student-athletes for Baseball, Softball, Golf, Tennis and Indoor Track. It will start at 6pm in Wildcat Gymnasium. Come out and support your wildcats!
· The Lady Cat Golf team competed in the Kelly Gipson High School Invitational over the weekend. Congratulations to Evelynn Artieta who placed first overall.
· Congratulations to the wrestling team on a record-breaking weekend. This year we had a record 5 City Finalists and 8 City Championships placers! The City Champion for his division is Kye Karcher. Congratulations to our Wrestling Team.
CONGRATULATIONS:
· The Walker High School MCJROTC drill teams competed over the weekend at the Zachary High Bronco Invitational Drill Meet. The Unarmed Drill Team earned 2nd Place in their division, while the Armed Team earned 1st Place in their division. Walker High School MCJROTC earned the distinction of overall champions for this meet. Congratulations cadets on a job well done.
· Also, Congratulations to the Walker MCJROTC Rifle Team for finishing second overall at the Louisiana State 3-Position Air Rifle Championships this Saturday. Cadet Leonard Davila placed third overall as an individual shooter. Congratulations!
ALL STUDENTS:
· Today and tomorrow we will be doing vision and hearing screening for all freshmen. A schedule has been sent out to teachers. Students are to report to the LIBRARY at the appointed time. We will do half of the 9th grade students today and the remaining tomorrow. All freshmen are required to be screened.
· Today, you’re invited to Pizza & Jesus in Papa Johns during all 3 lunch shifts.
· Students, Wednesday will be the grade and excuse cutoff for this interim. Please make sure you are caught up on all make-up work and that you have turned in all your excuses before Wednesday!
· Cheer tryout packets can be picked up at the Wildcat Window or the Annex beginning today. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Delaune.
